Voce has a short and exciting history. Many years of personal performance experience make up the talent of Voce (see member bios) which lead to their formation in September of 2008. Keith and Paul missed singing together and wanted to re-enter the quartet scene in a big way! In scouting for talent George Gipp, mentor and coach, encouraged the brothers to contact Jay Giallombardo. Keith contacted Jay while finishing up an opera contract in France and the trio agreed to meet the last weekend in August. The trio proved to be a dynamic match so they started their short search for a fourth. Enter Joel Beets.
Jay remembered a fine young man who gave a stunning full voice tenor audition for the New Tradition chorus. Although Joel’s work schedule did not allow him the time to join the chorus at the time, Jay had kept Joel’s contact information should such an opportunity arise.
Voce’s first rehearsal as a foursome was the first weekend in September and three weeks later they became the 2008 Illinois District Quartet Champions. Voce is very excited about their early championship and strives to achieve even higher levels of performance together.
This warm group of gentlemen gather once a month for a “marathon” weekend of rehearsal and fun! We are not sure what they enjoy more… Jay’s latest arrangements or the fabulous breakfast that he always prepares! Voce has an impressive work ethic and the ability to retain new performance concepts. The future looks bright for this fun and dynamic ensemble. It’s obvious they enjoy singing together!
